Poulton FC End of Season Roundup

Poulton FCAs proud sponsors of Poulton FC Under 9’s, Inghams Solicitors would like to congratulate all four teams for their sterling efforts and well-deserved achievements this season.

This has been a transitional season for The Reds – and what a season! After kicking off with promotion to the ‘A’ league, a successful season in the top flight was capped by Cup and Plate success at the Fleetwood Town FC and St. Annes tournament where the boys ended up lifting the silverware.

The newest Poulton FC Under 9’s team, The Whites, have gone from strength to strength, finishing the season on a high with a solid unbeaten run.

The Stripes had another strong year both in the ‘A’ league and in the Poulton and District Primary League’s Coulton Cup Finals, played out on the pristine turf at Fleetwood Town FC. Despite taking the lead in the final with a first-half double salvo from Kieran Hayes and Rees Gallagher,  the Poulton FC boys were narrowly beaten 4-2 at the final whistle by a strong YMCA side.

Finally, the Poulton FC Blacks have also had an excellent season and narrowly missed out on silverware in the final for the Coulton Plate against a difficult Staining Juniors outfit.

Staining took the lead just before half time but The Blacks’ Michael Uhiara rifled home an equaliser within a minute. The Blacks conceded mid-way through the second half but glory was still in their sights. Unfortunately despite piling on the pressure they couldn’t find that crucial equaliser and in the end, Staining snuffed out their hopes by firing home a third in the closing minutes.

Whilst not all of our teams ended their season with silverware, they can be extremely proud of their performances on the pitch. As sponsors and supporters of Poulton FC, Inghams is over the moon with the lads. We would like to wish all of the Poulton FC teams the very best of luck for next season.
